graff continued...

Here is a second set of graffiti-centered shots (which I actually took prior to the Melrose set) by Haight St. in San Francisco. This time, I actually used an older Nikon Digital Coolpix model (can't remember the actual model number), which is at least 5 years old. Anyway, a bit of post-prod work and I managed to restore some of the vibrant color that popped out at my initial glance upon the art-laden walls. Yet while I was hoping to accurately capture the smörgåsbord of color plastered on the concrete 'canvas', to my surprise, editing the pictures so as to create a monochromatic effect worked wonders as well. The black and white contrast that muted the vast array of hues that normally take center-stage, I feel, for graffiti shots, made for an interesting backdrop to my subjects anyway. (By the way, much thanks to my brother, Mark, and Josh for being patient with me that day and letting me snap away...shots that is, not at them...)
